Create
Select "Thickness" button. 
This tool can measure thickness of any part. It detecteds plane under first one and measures distance. In Tool Inspector panel select snapping method: to vertex, object center or pivot point. In order to create Thickness measure, just click on any surface.
Orientation and length of lines, position of text may be changed later by dragging markers.
