Rhinoceros Import Settings

General Settings

Read Render Cache Rhino files may contain polygonal version of NURBS objects and it's possible to read these meshes to FinalMesh. Following variants are possible:
  • Ignore. Ignore cache information, read NURBS only.
  • To Internal Cache [Default option]. When set, NURBS will be imported as usual, but meshes will be set to NURBS cache. Yes, FinalMesh has same concept of Polygonal cache. In result file may be displayed very fast. After saving to .fmesh file, this cache will be lost and NURBS tesselation may take a while.
  • Ignore NURBS. In this case NURBS objects will be ignored and meshes will be used instead. Very fast option and visual resulat are very much the same. You may use this option if you don't need NURBS representation.
Read Curves When set, all curves and lines will be readed. But quite often these things are not required and you may switch them off.
Optimize Instances When set, all similar Breps will be found and replaced to single one. Basically, you may switch this option off only for testing purposes.
Crack Free Tesselation This option affects similar option for all imported NURBS solids. Later you may change this setting in Brep properties dialog.
